This little stone fist is over three thousand years old. Maybe more. It was loose in the bottom of a large box of Egyptian artefacts that I was asked to photograph for a museum. I just got an email from a friend working in Iraq. He's stuck in Mosul waiting for a helicopter to Kirkuk. Must have been months since I last heard from him.
