This time next week I’ll be at The Mobile Journalism Conference ‘MoJoCon’ in Dublin. The 2015 event was the first and a highlight of my year. This year is again sold out with some big names in the world of networked reporting and filmmaking. It’s a place for mobile story builders to meet the like-minded. To share on and off the record. To hone their workflows.
I’m always fascinated at the tools people choose. The event is always iPhone heavy. You can blame the Appstore for that. The hardcore Android user always finds a way though. Lots to learn from everyone.
There’s plenty of show and tell. Over beers, on the stage, in the corridors. So it seems only right then that I should warm up with a snapshot of what’s currently in my bag on the average day.
I say an ‘average day’ as I have a smaller bag I use if I’m heading out on a social meet, client meeting, or to work up the pub. I also have a bigger bag I have for the longer overseas trip. My kit choice of course fluctuates. At this moment in time the photo above reflects what I will pack if I’m out for a few days. I might be delivering a workshop, amplifying an event or grabbing an interview.

I’ll share a more compact set up in my Newsletter. I post there every week. Unlike here which is once in a blue moon. I’m finding it much more fun than blogging. More intimate even. So if you want to plug into my stream of consciousness please subscribe there. [LINK]
Otherwise maybe see you at MojoCon?
I was very impressed with your reporting talents as told to the digital journalism conference yesterday. Do you have material you can email.
Thanks. Anything in mind? I tend to share most in my newsletter.
