This video of myself & @Loudmouthman was filmed a couple of days before the #mashmedia conference in Ireland to supplement a converstation that also included @BillT on stage.
For me it was a totally different experience to what I am familiar with. I normally give workshops or one on one keynotes but I really wanted to introduce Nik Butler’s extreme geek mind into the conversation (via Skype) and I will never need an excuse to want to share time with Bill Thompson.
We attempted to cover some big topics which perhaps needed a little more time to flesh out and which proved hard to find working examples for because on the whole we were talking about the future.
Topics touched upon were:
The Decline of the PC in favour of Device + Apps
Ownership vs Access ( e.g. how we now pay to access not pay to own )
What IPv6 may do to change everything net
I hope the video above will add more context and perhaps allude to some of the possible events approaching fast on out tech horizons. And that the conversation can also continue here as well as over the usual drinks during the meet-ups that always follow conferences like Mash 2011
This video was filmed by @BennyCrime of http://BennyCrime.com and rush-edited by me on the plane over..
(The video appears to be slightly out of sync which happened on the vimeo upload and i will rectify soon.)

Fantastic video Christian with @Loudmouthman. Very good and interesting information, as well as outlooks that are waiting for us down the road. IPv6 sounds scary and more futuristic to where we’ll all become Borg. Resistance is futile! lol Great video view, thank you.

Regarding IPv5 according to About.com:
“In short, IPv5 never became an official protocol. Many years ago, Internet Stream Protocol (ST) was considered IP version five by industry researchers, but ST was abandoned before ever becoming a standard or widely known as IPv5. Work on ST and IPv5 is not expected to ever restart.”
