I got a stack of books in the post today. They are all on the Shortlist for The Royal Society Prize for Science Books.
I doubt very much that I will get through them by Thursday when they announce the winner, but i’ll have a bloody good go.
Here are the titles In no particular order.
A World Without Ice by Henry Pollack
God’s Philosophers by James Hannam
We Need To Talk About Kelvin by Marcus Chown
Everyday Practice of Science by Frederick Grinnell
Why Does E=mc2? and why should we care by Brian Cox & Jeff Forshaw
Life Ascending by Nick Lane
If you do want to buy any of these books, use the affilate links below and in about 8 years i’ll get an Amazon voucher.
8 years? I hope you’re kidding. I was managing to get one every 2-3 months back in 2004-2005 when the website I entered the programme with had 200-500 visitors a day…and these days, I’m breaking records.Having said that, once my next one arrives, I’ll get all of these. I normally get books about The Simpsons and Europe’s biggest nuclear disaster, but science is sweet and I might make a benchmark. 🙂
Well i havn’t got an amazon voucher yet. I do spend a shedload on there
