I was asked by CreativeTourist.com to spend 48 hours in Manchester at the ‘Manchester Weekender‘.
I had no idea what to expect and came away throughly exhausted and enriched after a whirlwind of art, culture music and film.
Here are a few iPhone snaps taken over the weekend..
All the video, audio and photos from the weekend were captured with the iPhone4. By not taking any ‘serious’ kit I felt more like a tourist participating, rather than someone hired to observe and document.
Two highlights for me were ‘Finding Manchester, lost in Bolivia‘, and exhibition documenting a canoe trip along the Manuripi river into the Bolivian Amazon to find the lost village of Manchester. Which is incidentally here: S11º 31′ 29.0″ W067º 59′ 47.0″
And on my last night I found myself at the Abandon Normal Devices ‘Midnight Mass‘ at Cornerhouse with Peaches Christ.
That was an eye opener and the reason why the embedded video takes a turn for the debauched.
I see Manchester with completely new eyes. I had an amazing time. Massive thanks to all at Creative Tourist for asking me up and to @KatieMoffat for sorting out my itinery and making sure i didn’t get lost.
All of my audioboos are linked here.
Another big thank you must go to the band Films Of Colour who I met last week and who let me use a newly released track of theirs called ‘Actions‘ in my video. You can find them on twitter as @FilmsOfColour
