I was up before the sun was this morning. It’s still not really visible up behind the mountains. I’m in Wales on my Dads farm. He’s less farming more outdoor pursuits & Baavet development (www.Baavet.com) nowadays. His tractor has seen better times.
A tractor was the first vehicle I ever drove. When I say I drove I mean I sat on my Dads lap steering. A little grey machine. I forget the make.Me and my Brother @DannyPayne had a good dose of the countryside growing up. I remember two farms and a smallholding not including where I’m standing now.
I love the countryside and the traces of history so clearly visible. A hard working history belonging to a people that are proud of their way of life and see almost every aspect of it threatened in some way or other. Today it’s all about diversifying, living locally, simply, embracing the community and above all, survival.
Aah the gold old Massey Ferguson 165, do you rememver the old Ford 4000 and the dexter and the county?
@wizzardsblog I know not of these models but my Dad recognises the Dexter. You know your Tractors.. 🙂 This Massey would have originally been Red apparently.
