Just got back from having last minute Typhoid, Hepatitis A & Yellow Fever jabs. Last minute because tomorrow I will be in Africa.
I will be helping TAG ID, Nir Kalron and @TagDaren in documenting the training received by Game Park Rangers with the Kenyan Wildlife Service.
The rangers are in a constant battle with well equipped violent poachers as they try to protect the many endangered and almost extinct species that they look after.
This is my first visit for TAG ID but I used to work in Africa many years ago as an expedition leader. I would take tourists from Kenya, through Tanzania, into what was Zaire and back through Uganda into Kenya again.
I fell in love with the country it’s people and of course the wildlife. I’m really looking forward to once again stepping onto Kenyan soil and meeting those behind this amazing project. I hope to travel light and share snippets of media to educate others as to how TAG ID is enabling and equipping the Rangers with new skills and equipment but also to hopefully introduce the Rangers to new ways of logging and recording their own stories to muster support and interest in what they are doing.
Most of the content i make over the next week will hopefully find it’s way into the @Documentally twitter feed.
Incidentally.. Yes that is my arm in a photo take this morning. 🙂
So envious! Have fun 😉 I can’t wait to read all about it 😉
Hi @hedgewytch Not sure how much writing i will be doing. I hope to grab photos & video.. If i only take the ipad there may be no other option. 🙂 Thinking of leaving the laptop behind.
Apologies when I wrote “read” I actually meant “see”, “hear”, “smell” and touch etc 😉 Take iPad and Bluetooth keyboard ?
How totally awesome! (except for the shot part)
