This clip must have been shot a couple of years ago as I can’t remember using the Nokia E61 for a long time. The solar panel is charging the phone on a boat trip down the river Spey. Myself and a friend spent a few days paddling from the mountains to the sea and camping along the way. I still have this panel and it is still working well. It cost £25 from Maplin and had 12V of AA batteries built in and a 12V cigar lighter plug outlet. Phones have come a long way in a short time yet the solar stuff I see for sale seems cheap and gimmicky unless you fork out over £100. I can’t help but feel this tech has been held back. I may be wrong as I only see what’s on sale on the high street and that isn’t a massive range. I’ll keep looking. I have a soft spot for solar. I keep thinking the sun will come out. Here’s hoping.
