Polaroid Kindly sent me one of their PoGo Zink (Zero Ink) bluetooth portable printers to have a play with and over this last week i have done just that.
It’s not that bad, pretty good fun in fact and I can see lots of uses other than the ones they advertise.. but be warned some of them may get you into trouble…
There is no ink to buy as some kind of crystal technology is incorporated into the paper but at £2.99 for ten 76×50 mm photo stickers.. You may want to use them sparingly unless you have massive pocket money or a decent job.
I found the battery pretty good and love the fact i could send from my laptop’s bluetooth too.
As far as the print quality goes.. I found it as good as i expected for a device this fresh out. Make sure you occasionally place a photo in upside down to clean the device (or whatever it does) this seems to remove banding in the colours that can happen. Once again it’s the content that’s the star.
If Polaroid come out with a 6×4 version I would certainly buy one if the image quality was up to scratch..
Please check out the video for a look..
I’ve got the pic you took with it at Tuttle here in front of me. While it’s clearly not going to win any awards for print quality, it is a GREAT way of carrying a means for transfering instant momentos of places and times around, particularly to non-geeks.
As you say, a 6×4 version would be outstanding. Being able to visit relatives and print them copies of photos taken there and then would be amazing.

A fan of Polaroid in the past?? I’ve heard about your sorts before!! Strange how Polaroid cameras died out once digital cameras went mainstream. I’m sure it had nothing whatsever to do with pictures of naked spouses,
Yeah this is fab for visiting your mates with. Instant blue tooth pictures for every one and like you said- no excuses its all done and over with.
I think it will be great for graffers & street art – portable stickers, you could snap people in the street and slam their picture all over their vicinity :O
I love it already.
That was the most entertaining thing I’ve seen all week, thanks Christian! You’re so dodgy…I like it 🙂
Now thats just a really good little thing. My 16 year old watched that with me “Wow, thats COOL” was the verdict. He said he and his mates would love that.
Very cool little gadget Christian. Perfect for travelling as you say. I’ve been taking a small Canon printer away with me to give people photos but it’s a tad fickle and needs 12V power – the pogo looks dead easy.
i love mine! great anytime, anywhere for that impulse photo but haven’t found a naughty use for it ….. yet ;o)
